- Store your liquid honey in a warm place, such as a kitchen cupboard or pantry.
- Avoid storing the liquid honey in a fridge as it can speed up the crystallization process.
- Honey starts to crystallize because it may be a bit too cold. Crystallization is a normal process and indicates your honey is 100% pure honey.
- Heat a pot of water on the stove. Do not bring it to boiling. Just warm it enough until there is a little steam coming from the pot (about 95 - 110 degrees Fahrenheit). Turn off the heat and remove the pot from the burner and wait about 2-3 minutes. Add your honey jar to the pot but do not submerse the jar in the water. Allow the jar to sit for a few hours. If it does not decrystallize, begin the process again.
- Alternatively, turn on the tap and allow the water to get hot. Fill up a pot or "heat safe" bowl with the hot water from the tap and place your jar in the bowl. Allow to sit for a few hours.
- DO NOT MICROWAVE! Using the microwave to decrystallize honey removes valuable nutrients and enzymes.
